Faversham Photographer, Samantha Jones, shoots at A la Mode in Faversham

I hadn’t realised how much of a stir taking a chaise longue out into the street would cause at my recent photo session with Elle of A la Mode in Faversham! A la Mode is situated just off of Preston Street in Gatefield Lane … and we certainly turned a few heads! Elle wanted to get some promotional shots to use on her site but also to advertise the fact that there is new stock coming on 3 April 2010 … vist her site at www.ellewift.com for more info. I hope to see you all there!

Here’s a small selection of the gorgeous, vintage and unusual …

Elle is also organising the Spring Fair on 8 May 2010 at the Alexander Centre in Faversham so do come along and enjoy the fashion show and visit the stands.

Samantha Jones Photography {website} …

is currently under construction! I’ve decided to have a more professional and easy to navigate website and it is being built as we speak … so do bear with me and I’ll certainly be linking to it here in the very near future! However, photography is still continuing as usual, so don’t hesitate to give me a call on 07786 314973 or drop me an email at samanthajonesphotography@live.co.uk to book your session.

An unusual {baby} photo session

Last week I met up with Janet from Delicakes (visit DeliCakes blog here for lots of lovely cakes). We had arranged a session to shoot her {baby}, who is 18 years old and 6′ 2″ tall (and yes, I did take my stepladder with me!). El unfortunately has to sell his own baby, a Kawasaki motorbike, and Janet asked me to get some shots of him before the bike is sold … so I did!

I was so tempted to take with me the basket and sheepskin rug that I often use in portraits …

… but decided not to embarrass El any more. So pleased with how these images turned out and both Janet and El are happy with them too. But I didn’t get to ride the bike …

{Iffin House} and the gorgeous Crotchet

I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah, who runs Iffin House, near Canterbury (www.iffin.co.uk). Sarah runs “dog-friendly” accommodation, which means that her guests are able to bring along their canine friends on the trip. We are running a joint venture which includes a “lifestyle” shoot if a stay of seven days is booked at Iffin House. Dog owners often do not take the opportunity to have portraits taken of their pets and this joint venture offers them the chance to have a session in the wonderful grounds at Iffin House …

Here are the contact details for Iffin House: they provide wonderful accommodation, conference facilities and are also a wedding venue …

Iffin House, Iffin Lane, Canterbury, Kent CT4 7BE
Tel: 0870 3210 565 Fax: 0870 3218 565
Email: info@iffin.co.uk Web: http://www.iffin.co.uk

And you get to meet Crotchet, too!

Wedding fair at the {Abbots Barton} in Canterbury

I attended my first wedding fair of the year at the Abbots Barton Hotel in Canterbury (Abbots Barton website) on Mothering Sunday. We had around 65 couples come through the door and I was pleased to be able to hear about so many wedding plans!

I held a competition to win a free portrait session and was amazed to receive 24 entries! I have decided to give away two free sessions as the response was so excellent … and the winners are:

Luke Hogarth and Rachel Male.

However, don’t despair if you didn’t win … you can still contact me to arrange your portrait session by emailing me samanthajonesphotography@live.co.uk. You could also become a fan on my Facebook page (Samantha Jones Kent Wedding and Lifestyle Photographer on Facebook) and there will be notification there of special offers to celebrate Samantha Jones Photography’s anniversary at the beginning of April.

I will also be at the Burlington Hotel, Folkestone wedding fayre on 28 March 2010 (The Burlington Hotel) so hope to see you there.

And finally, I would be more than happy to discuss your wedding photography plans with you and my initial consultation is free!

Sweet little {nine} day old baby

What a cutie. And so teeny tiny … I met gorgeous baby {E-M} today as a result of a request on Facebook … I wanted to try out a new baby prop and, although we didn’t quite get the shots that we wanted with the prop … I got ones like these:

I had such fun today and do hope that I get to photograph gorgeous baby {E-M} again in the future. xx
