Kinga and Ian {wedding} – the story of the day

The English weather can bring some surprises … in the middle of February it felt, at times, like a late spring day. And we had some wonderful blue skies into the bargain.

Mid-February found me at Hever Castle in Kent, to photograph the wedding celebrations of Kinga and Ian (you may have seen their {sneak peek}). The day started off overcast and cloudy, but before the 3pm ceremony, the clouds broke …

Ian isn’t too comfortable with having his photo taken, but his sons, who acted as his “best men” were certainly not backwards in coming forwards, hence the “catalogue shot” here on the bridge at Hever!

And then off to the Tulip room, where Kinga was finalising her preparations …

And with her sister as bridesmaid …

and joined by her mum, dad, sister and daughter, Lily …

we were ready for the ceremony which took place within the castle … the room is dark, but we were so lucky – the sun broke through and lit up the happy couple beautifully!

After the ceremony, with readings in both English and Polish, we were guided around the castle for some wonderful photographs …

… and then into the grounds …

Everything was just perfect, the Italian garden was bathed in beautiful sunshine and we strolled around, learning some of the history of Hever Castle and the Astor family.

Then back to the castle …

for formal photographs and then into the hall for some entertainment provided by Etienne who is a personal friend of the groom!

And then the wedding breakfast, with wonderful speeches from all, including the bridesmaid and the bride! And the first traditional job as husband and wife … cutting the cake!

And then it was sadly time for me to leave … but safe in the knowledge that I witnessed a truly beautiful ceremony with a couple who are evidently very much in love! I am looking forward to seeing Kinga and Ian (and Lily) on their return to the UK and to show them all of the images from their wonderful day!

Hadlow Manor refurbishment photoshoot by Samantha Jones Photography {sneak peek}

Hadlow Manor, near Tonbridge, Kent ( has recently undergone a major refurbishment and I was invited in to take some up-to-date images in order for them to produce their wedding literature and other hotel information. Una, the events co-ordinator, organised regular suppliers to provide items for the shoot, including Janet McKenner, who runs Kings Hill based, who provided a beautiful rose decorated wedding cake (and yummy mini carrot cakes!), floristry by Pauline Moon on 01732 366560 and Victoria Allinson, who modelled one of her couture bridal gowns and beautiful bespoke accessories and who brought a huge sense of fun to the shoot.

Here’s a sneak peek from a fabulously fun day!

I am pleased to announce that I will be exhibiting at Hadlow Manor’s wedding fair on 20 March 2011 so if you are considering celebrating your wedding at Hadlow Manor or are looking for a creative and fun Kent-based photographer, do pop by and say hello! Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Walker {wedding sneak peek}

Thank goodness Vikki and Mark got married on Friday … although their wedding day was overcast and quite chilly, we escaped the rain. But the warm and friendly welcome from their family and friends (especially table 6 …) made everything wonderful.

Vikki and Mark were married at Lords Country Club in Rayleigh, Essex. It’s a beautiful venue set in wonderful grounds and I can certainly vouch for the lovely food at the wedding breakfast!

As promised, here’s a sneak peek of the happy couple …

Vikki was an absolutely trouper and didn’t mind being outside in her gorgeous Alfred Angelo dress. However, I did have to photoshop out a few goosepimples!

I couldn’t resist posting this pic of the gorgeous bride with her boys, taken in the driving range …

The full story of the day will follow, but I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Vikki and Mark and their families and friends, and seeing Jo and Ed again. And Georgia, who made a beautiful flower princess at the wedding … you want to see a picture of Georgia … oh, OK then!

Hever Castle Wedding – Kinga and Ian {sneak peek}

Every wedding is different. Every wedding brings surprises and joy. And lots and lots of love.

Just one quick sneak peek from Kinga and Ian’s wedding at Hever Castle … the weather was beautiful, like a late spring day.

More will follow soon but I wish Kinga and Ian all the happiness in the world. Along with gorgeous Lily!

A busy time for babies – {sneak peek}

What a smiley little girl! It’s always lovely to meet new parents but when you are also greeted with a big wide (toothless …) smile from such a gorgeous little girl … well, it reminds just how much I love my job.

Just a quick sneak peek for mummy and daddy …

Baby I is 11 weeks old. She had her feet and hand castings done the day before by Justine at and the photoshoot was to provide a beautiful image to put in the frame alongside the castings. Check out my blog post here for more details of our joint venture.

If you have a new baby and want to create a beautiful memory for yourself (and proud grandparents too) give me a call on 07786 314973 or Justine on 01732 521537 to organise a session.

I don’t just photograph people … I also offer excellent value product photography as well! I had great fun at who offer a unique concept for hat hire and miscellany in my home town of Faversham. Take a peek at a couple of montages from the day!

With such a wide selection of variety of products, it really was a delight to photograph in the shop. And I saw Theresa, the owner, in action, sorting out present-buying issues with ease!
