Gemma and Charlie will be getting married in three weeks’ time … here’s hoping that the weather is as wonderful as it was today (maybe a little less windy …). Today really illustrated the value of a pre-wedding photoshoot as Gemma, at the beginning, didn’t feel too confident about having her picture taken. However, with Charlie’s help, I think we managed to get a couple of shots …
The sunshine was just amazing and we had the chance to play around a little …
Off into the countryside …
We were joined by Mowgli, who has achieved the grand old age of 15 … although he played hard to get and didn’t want to pose …
And then what may be my favourite engagement ring shot … EVER!
Gemma’s engagement ring is modelled on the leaves of a clematis … beautiful! I’ve saturated out the colours a little which makes the ring look silver, but it’s a beautiful rich gold!
See you both in only three weeks’ time! Thanks for making it such fun today and can’t wait until your wedding!

Referrals are wonderful things – you know that your clients have been pleased with your work enough to recommend you and your future clients can be confident of what to expect.
Such as in the case of Shakira – she was celebrating a special birthday and had invited a group of fabulous friends to share her party. Her younger sister, Kassi, had been at a photoshoot party last year … hence the referral!
Here are a couple of sneak peek pictures featuring the two sisters … the entire gallery will be open very soon!
We used a studio set-up but also took advantage of the beautiful sunshine for some natural light portraits … the girls all joined in and we used reflectors to bring a hint of sunshine to the shots. I think the girls learnt a little something about photography too and special thanks to India for her excellent work on posing!
Thank you all for making it such fun and really joining in with the spirit of the party … I think that there may be some models in the making! If you are interested in booking a birthday party photoshoot experience, do drop me a line: firstname.lastname@example.org or give me a call: 07786 314973. It’s fun!!!

Hayley is a keen horticulturalist and allotment holder – indeed, we visited her allotment to see if there would be the chance to do some shots there … as we drove round the corner, Hayley was confident that there wouldn’t be anyone there … however, the sunshine and my usual influence (ie coachloads of people arriving in normally quiet locations) meant that the allotment was full of hard working gardeners!
So we repaired to the back garden … and had great fun with Hayley’s birthday shoot which had been given to her as a gift by her children … what they probably hadn’t planned for was being co-opted into the shoot themselves!
Take a look … there was far too much laughter going on today!
I am so glad that Hayley’s daughter Kath found me as I couldn’t think of a nicer way to spend a few hours. Although I think Hayley’s son Tom found the pruning saw a little too interesting …

I am often asked whether I can produce images in black and white – with the onset of the digital age, you may think that it is just a case of flicking a switch and … hey presto … the image is black and white. However, not every image converts well to black and white and photographers seem to have an “eye” for the ones which will work.
So I thought I would process a couple of images that I took recently of gorgeous young Freya … tell me what you think … colour or black and white?
I am quietly confident that Freya’s family are going to love these images, whether they are in black and white or colour, but do let me know what you think?
And if you are looking for a family photographer based near Faversham, do drop me an email on email@example.com and check out my website at www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk for more info and prices.

What an amazing day to consult with a couple planning their wedding in 2012. And a wonderful day to be introduced to a new venue (to me). Of course, I had my camera with me …
The venue is truly beautiful, with lakes in the grounds, an outside pergola in which you can get married, accommodation for everyone and a spa too.
You can find out more on the website here: www.alexanderhotels.co.uk but here’s one final image of the main building …

My job is very satisfying. I meet wonderful people and photograph them at happy times of their lives. I am particularly enjoying my current bookings for bump-to-baby sessions (click here to find out more). You may have seen my sneak peek last week of Mathilda Daisy … well, this weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca, who is looking forward to her new arrival in nine weeks time …
As I usually photograph in my clients homes, I am always on the lookout for personal things which can be used in the shoot. This “Love” sign was hanging on the back of the front door … and was just perfect!
The online gallery will be open very soon and, even if it’s too late to book me for a “bump” shoot, don’t forget that the package can be newborn, six months and one year. Drop me a link firstname.lastname@example.org or check out more details on my website: www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk.
