Can you believe it’s a year exactly since Rachel and Pete celebrated their wedding … the weather started rainy and overcast but turned out beautifully in the end. Here’s the original blog post from their wedding day Rachel and Pete’s wedding at The Old Rectory in Maidstone.
This is Rachel and Pete’s favourite shot from their wedding day …
And I was delighted to spend more time with this fun couple when they came down to my neck of the woods for a “Rock the Frock” session which you can see here: Rachel and Pete’s Rock the Frock Session
And this is one of my favourites from their Rock the Frock session … we wanted to get the veil flying across Rachel’s head …
I wish you the loveliest wedding anniversary ever – enjoy your day and give each other a big hug from me! xxx

On his last day of school, Scott had to be a super model. Before his teeth start to fall out … ask mum for more details!
We were lucky with the weather last Friday – huge black clouds were looming on the horizon but it stayed dry which allowed us to use the wonderful grounds for some … jumping, running and more!
Mum and dad wanted some pictures with a difference … not the usual white backgrounds … so I made them work for it!
And I couldn’t possibly tell you the key word which made Scott dissolve in a fit of the giggles …
Scott, you were a super star. And your teeth didn’t fall out either … which was a bonus! And congratulations to mum and dad too – they celebrated their wedding anniversary on the day of the photoshoot.
If you want to capture moments with your family (before their teeth fall out!), do drop me a line sam@samanthajonesphotography or give me a call 07786 314973.

It’s sometimes difficult to explain exactly how a signing book for a wedding might look – using images from an engagement shoot, I have “mocked up” an example in the slideshow below.
Signing books are A4 sized and have a maximum of 30 pages. They are such a personal way of producing a signature book and you get to have printed images from your engagement session too!

It’s always lovely to be invited back to photograph a new addition to the family … and this time the new addition is the cutest puppy in the world! I first met this fabulous family when their littlest girl was only a baby herself … how she has grown … and how different are the two girls! Add mummy and daddy’s wellies and the puppy into the mix and check out their sneak peek …
We really had wanted to get out into the garden but unfortunately the weather didn’t agree – although by the time I left, the sun was starting to peek through the clouds. We set up a studio indoors instead, and created a fun set of images using both studio lights and natural light …
And, of course, mummy and daddy had to have some cute pictures with the star of the show!
Thanks to everyone for making it all such fun … and maybe next time the sun will shine for us! If you are expecting a new addition to your family or just want some updated images of your children as they grow, do drop me a line firstname.lastname@example.org and check out my website here.

Charlie’s mum was the one who introduced me to wedding photography. She recommended me to a friend whose wedding I shot and I thought … yes, I can do this. Two and a half years later, I’m loving every moment … and the fact that Amanda still comes to visit … this time, with baby number two, Charlie (whose gorgeous sister was featured by me here). Can you spot the similarities? Mum still looks pretty fabulous!!!
Just one little difference though …
Congratulations all round to mummy and daddy … looking forward to seeing you all again very soon xx

How do I just choose one image to post as a sneak peek from yesterday’s fab engagement photoshoot? Emma and Luke are getting married next July and wanted to have their shoot almost a year to the day before their wedding. We met up at Tankerton Slopes near Whitstable on Sunday afternoon and were blessed with a gorgeously sunny day … Emma has hypersensitivity to light but was absolutely amazing to photograph and Luke, well he is just a catalogue model poser … check out their sneak peek(s) below!
We were asked to move on from the first location by a member of the Tankerton Sailing Club … so we moved on to some beach huts!
We moved around to a couple of different locations and I guided Emma and Luke (gently) with some posing suggestions. Engagement photoshoots are invaluable for me to find out what my clients like and how they photograph – the images are uploaded to an online gallery and I invite feedback from the couples as to which images they particularly like and if they have any other comments on the whole experience. Often the best shots are candid, without the couple being aware that they are being photographed … my particular favourite from this shoot is below …
But I have lots of favourites …
And what engagement photoshoot would be complete without the “arty” engagement ring shot …
Emma and Luke were brilliant and seemed so relaxed, even though the beach at Tankerton was absolutely heaving! Thanks to you both for making it such a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and I hope that you enjoyed your trip down to the coast. I suspect that the next year is going to fly by and I’m so much looking forward to shooting your wedding!
Engagement photoshoots or pre-wedding shots form a part of each of my wedding packages. However, you don’t have to be getting married to have a photoshoot like Emma and Luke’s – just drop me a line: sam@samanthajonesphotography or give me a call on 07786 314973 and we can chat more.

I met up with Sabina, who runs www.softbots.co.uk and her gorgeous daughter O, for a photoshoot to provide Sabina with promotional images for online use. Here’s just a couple of images to give you an idea what the Softbots look like – I’ve already used one in a recent shoot with an eight month old and I’ve got a zebra print one all ready for use …
And a selection of Softbot covers:
I’ll be posting again soon with a sneak peek from a family photoshoot where I used one of the Softbots products. They really do cover nappies very well and are gorgeously soft too! If you are interested in booking a family or newborn shoot, do drop me a line: email@example.com. You might be the first to use the zebra!
