The life of Luna {story of a Tibetan Terrier}

As some of you may know, we already have a strikingly handsome and good looking two year old Tibetan Terrier called Alfie. He has recently been diagnosed with quite a rare illness called Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystrophy which is an auto-immune disease where the body rejects the claws, resulting in painful and infected feet and means that the claws have to be removed and he is rattling with tablets. But it doesn’t affect his quality of life and he will be much more comfortable when his new, stronger claws grow through.

We hadn’t realised that he was quite so ill … we visited a breeder to think about reserving a puppy … and came home with Luna, a 15 month old Tibetan with a big attitude. She is too small to be a viable breeding dog and now she is sharing her life and adventures with us. At the beginning, because Alfie was poorly, they didn’t really get on too well but now that he is regaining his strength and we are going for walks together, things are settling down.

So I’ve been a bit quiet on the blogging front but have been busy with family photoshoots, newborn shoots, surprise birthday parties, both for 40th and 80th celebrations, some beautiful vintage jewellery photography and wedding consultations too.

And, of course, photographing our new addition … can you see her hugely long eyelashes? One flutter of those and we were smitten. Tibetans have such long eyelashes to keep their hair out of their eyes.

How could you resist? We couldn’t …

And so our house is expanding … and becoming an exceptionally happy and fun place to be. If you are thinking of having an addition of the furry kind, do drop me an email Pets take such a great part of our hearts and are often overlooked when it comes to portrait shoots. Don’t “paws” for thought, drop me a line! I’ll also donate a percentage of the price of each photoshoot to a local animal rehoming centre based on the outskirts of Faversham which gives many animals a chance of a better life.

Charlie’s newborn photoshoot, also featuring big brother Mikey {sneak peek}

On a gorgeous, bright, early Spring day, I visited Kristina and James and their two boys for a newborn photoshoot for nine day old Charlie. Mum Kristina had been a little worried that her eldest son, at two years old, might be a little wary of having his photograph taken and it is true that, at this age, children start to question “why” … but I think the images below show that Mikey was very relaxed, but possibly not as relaxed and his chilled out little brother. The warmth of the room and a full tummy meant that Charlie hardly made a murmur, only for a little feed before modelling perfectly …

Kristina mentioned that she quite likes images in black and white too and those below are a good example of how well it can work …

I think Mikey was quite relaxed. We also took time to get some family shots to capture this special moment of a growing family. If you are expecting a new arrival, do drop me a line – I would recommend booking a date around 7-9 days after your due date but we can always be flexible if necessary as babies do seem to have a mind of their own …

I’m delighted to share my new sample albums (and it’s my birthday today too …)

As I opened the parcel that arrived at the end of last week, I could barely suppress my excitement. Then it dawned on me that this is how a bride and groom should feel when they receive their wedding album, not just a disc of images. All of my wedding packages include an album and disc and start from £995.

Take a look at the gorgeousness which are my new samples … these ones are suede and are offered in eight beautiful colours but there are leather and acrylic and metal … why not book a consultation with me to see them “in the flesh” …
