It’s the age-old understanding that a wedding day is all about the bride … but I’m not quite sure that this is strictly true. I’ve been second shooting a couple of weddings with Christopher Martin recently and I’ve been covering the groom preps. Usually, when I am photographing a wedding solo, I flit between bride and groom preparations where possible (and depending on location) but I do usually spend the majority of my time with the bride and her bridal party. However, having the responsibility of photographing the boys has been quite an eye-opener – in a good way! I’ve realised that there is as much emotion happening in the “boy camp” as in the “girl camp” and opening of cards and gifts before the ceremony has provided me with some fabulous images … take a look at this small selection from Shayne and Sarah’s wedding celebrations at Little Chart church, otherwise known as St Mary’s ruins.
The bride and groom hail from Canada and they found the ruins at Little Chart on the internet … amazing!
Just look at the amazing colour of the wall! As the name suggests, the church is pretty much completely ruined but does have some of the original floor tiles dotted around here and there.
And who can resist a gorgeous little one …
Sarah’s bouquet was full of lavender and the guests were invited to take a scoop of dried lavender in place of confetti – it got absolutely everywhere!
Sometimes the smallest touch can convey huge emotion.
Luckily the weather cleared and Shayne and Sarah were able to have some photographs taken outside in the beautiful grounds at Eastwell Manor.
And back to those shoes …
It was great to be able to second shoot alongside Chris at this unusual and quirky wedding. And it all started on the internet …
Happy wedding Wednesday!
