Social media portraits – it’s all in the translation
I was delighted to be invited to create some social media portraits for Edwin Duncombe, proprietor of www.edwin-duncombe.co.uk. Edwin is an established translator and has recently redeveloped his website and so needed some up-to-date and fresh images for promotional purposes. As Edwin is based in the depths of the Kent countryside, he really wanted to have images that reflected both where he works and his own personality and love for the Kent countryside.
As a photographer, I was spoilt for choice – the weather on the day stayed dry and was, at times, very bright. But the area in which we could work afforded lots of possibilities to create a varied selection of images.
To start with, Edwin wasn’t too comfortable with having his photograph taken but I did get some smiles in the end! Eventually, he decided to use one of the landscape images that we took in a local field on his website, with dramatic skies to boot!
And, as an absolute bonus, one of Edwin’s skills is German translation so I had the chance to use my, albeit rusty, German during the shoot!
