Lucky for some … Penelope and Jonathan married in Whitstable on 13 April 2013 …

It had all the hallmarks of one amazing day. Having been recommended on Twitter, Penelope and I met up, chatted, and hit it off. And on an overcast and sometimes rainy day in April, in a church on Whitstable High Street, amongst family and friends, Penelope married her Jonathan. And I was delighted to have been part of their day … here’s their story:

With a purple themed wedding, details were paramount …

Which was also accented by the groom!

I forgot to mention that, not only was it a bit chilly, it was very windy too.

Once Penelope’s matron of honour and gayd of dishonour (yep, you read that right …) had arrived, it was time for the bride to make her entrance accompanied by her father.

It was much warmer inside the church – one of the regulations of photographing weddings in this particular church is that the photographer must stand at the back and shoot with a long lens.

But I’m glad to see that it didn’t stop nanny having a good look (such a lovely lady, full of bubbly personality!).

We had wanted to do a photo walk along the high street but the weather was turning quite wet and so we got the important family shots and then made our way to the beach!

I was determined to get some great shots and props to Penelope and Jonathan – they worked that camera, despite the rain!

Inside the Old Neptune, the level of noise was amazing – catching up with friends, seeing family members, recounting tales … and outside, in the tipis, more laughter and music and the best hog roast I think I have ever tasted!

Jonathan’s family had rented a house right on the beach and that meant that we could get a few shots out of the wind … I just love this one of Jonathan and his nanny!

Before long, it was time for the speeches and the first dance …

It was so cozy inside the tipi that I don’t think anyone wanted to go back to the pub! All in all, such a fabulous couple and one amazing day. Peace and love to you both! xx
