I was delighted to be invited to cover the grand opening for the new Kent MS Therapy Centre in Canterbury back in January of this year. Chilly weather certainly didn’t stop the warm welcome and sense of delight in seeing such a beautiful new space being available to the local community. Tears flowed during the speeches and the emotion was tangible … to see so many people come together in celebration of their achievements was very humbling indeed. My godfather, many years ago, suffered from MS so I have first hand experience of this illness and the effects it has on day-to-day life.
You can find more details about the centre on their website kentmstc.org.uk and here’s selection of images from the two visits that I undertook …
And images from our morning of photography, showing some of the facilities available at the centre:
I was also delighted to receive some of the promotional literature and to see that some of my images have been used too!
I found my visits inspiring and emotional too. And I look forward to returning when the gardens are ready and the flowers are blooming to capture more images of this wonderful space.

I love my job in that I get to meet so many different people and photograph their celebrations in so many different locations. I was delighted to be booked by Charlotte and Matt for their wedding last July and this was my first visit to St Margaret’s of Antioch in Barming and the first time that I worked with Reverend Will. Such a laid back personality and very welcoming of photographers … which makes my job very easy indeed.
Now to Charlotte and Matt. They are pretty laid back people. Nothing seems to faze them at all. And it was this laid back attitude (and attention to detail from both the best men) which made the day just … flow. The weather was amazing despite forecasts to the contrary, the bride so fabulously smiley and giggly (and had fabulous shoes), the groom, super dapper in his wedding attire (really shiny shoes!) and nan, who made sure I didn’t miss anything at all!
So enjoy their day in pictures and feel the warmth of the sun on your back …
An absolutely wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable day. Thank you again to Charlotte and Matt and to their families and friends for making me feel so incredibly welcome and part of the celebrations. I’m looking forward to returning to the Black Horse again in the future xx
