Naomi and Richard and their rainy (and sunny) October wedding at Newlands Chapel

I’m delighted to be recommended by the lovely team at Newlands Chapel (www.kentchapelweddings.co.uk) and to have been booked by Naomi and Richard for their October wedding. Newlands is a unique and entirely beautiful venue but is, by its very nature, not blessed with lots of natural light.

And so it was on a very rainy October morning that Gail (the co-ordinator at Newlands) and I met under umbrellas, shrugged our shoulders and trusted that the weather report would be right for later …

The groom did admit that having his photograph taken isn’t his favourite thing but his best men helped out!Naomi and Richard by Samantha Jones Photography 02

But the rain didn’t matter as Naomi made her entrance …Naomi and Richard by Samantha Jones Photography 06

As the rain was still pouring down, we made the decision to run through the formal shots inside the chapel … I set up two off camera flashes and shoot through umbrellas and was pleased with the results.  Gail said it was the first time ever that the weather had stopped formals being taken in the gardens.Naomi and Richard by Samantha Jones Photography 09

But as we arrived at the reception venue at Egerton Village Hall, the sun (as promised) had started to shine.  Preparations for the hog roast were in full flow and the cake looked pretty amazing!Naomi and Richard by Samantha Jones Photography 16
