When I arrived at Victoria’s bridal preparations, after seeing the dress and ooohing and aaahing over the shoes, our discussion quickly turned to the weather forecast. Victoria and Chris’s outdoor ceremony at Boys Hall was scheduled for 3pm … exactly the time of the first onset of rain showers. But Victoria was positive. And definite. The ceremony would be outside and it would not rain.
And she was right …
I wasn’t able to detect the slightest hint of nerves! And this glass washboard that belonged to Victoria’s grandmother made for a fabulous engagement ring shot. Leaving the girls to their preparations, I headed over (through a shower of rain) to Boys Hall to meet up with the boys. Chris, impeccably dressed groom …And he didn’t look nervous either!
It didn’t rain. Not at all during the ceremony. And the bride and groom smiled and laughed and giggled all the way through. So happy to be married. And Stella, super grandmother. I love this image of Chris and Victoria (who was 6′ 2″ in her heels) making themselves smaller so that we could get the shot!
OK, it did rain a bit. But it made the air crisp and clear and dispelled some of the earlier humidity. And Chris and Victoria laughed and giggled (again) and made my job so very easy.
Thanks to usher Will, who stood with me in the rain, holding an umbrella over me and my camera equipment, to get this long exposure shot. I think it was worth it!
To everyone who helped me on the day, who made my job so fun and enjoyable, thank you. And to Victoria and Chris, who were pretty much perfect … I wish you all the happiness in the world for your future life together and I can’t wait to catch up on your return from honeymoon. Much love xx
