The owners and managers at Kennington Hall got in touch with a fabulous group of local wedding suppliers and organised a very short notice shoot in the ground of the Hall.
It was windy … and chilly … but the resulting images are full of fun and laughter. We even got a tiny bit of blue sky too!
A big thanks goes out to our models, Steve, Crystal and Lolly who hadn’t met before the day but took direction really well and looked amazing!

Oh it was chilly. A March wedding for Charlotte and Jonathan. We had all hoped for a bright spring day but it just wasn’t to be. But it certainly did not dampen anyone’s spirits and the quality of the light was just perfect for portraits.
Charlotte has very fond memories of Oakwood House as her father worked there when she was a child. And so it seemed very right that she and Jonathan celebrated their marriage within hailing distance of Charlotte’s old school (and I heard a few stories about that too …) and with so many friends and family with them.
Particularly their two children, Flick and Ollie. Who didn’t want me to photograph him … but then who let me photograph him … and then photobombed lots of our shots! And Flick – you know how to work a camera, young lady!
With Charlotte’s bridesmaids, there really wasn’t a quiet moment during bridal prep. The laughter and giggles could be heard from far down the corridor so I knew exactly where to find them! And the boys, including “Steve Collins from school” (exactly the words on his buttonhole) were such fun to photograph and yes, Ollie photobombed their shot too!
One of my favourite images (and there any many) is of Charlotte opening up the pack of Softmints which Ollie had (as bribery) right at the beginning of their ceremony. When I consult with brides and grooms, I tell them that every wedding is unique and that there is always a moment, during every wedding, that I think “I’ve not seen that before …” and the Softmint moment was that moment!
Sit back and enjoy …
It was such a pleasure to photograph your wedding and I hope that our paths will cross again many times in the future. And I will never forget the “Softmint moment”. Much love xxx
