It was quite an amazing day yesterday in Whitstable. With incredibly warm weather for December, and an almost cloudless sky, Helen and Andy celebrated their love with family and friends from near and very far, along with 12 bridesmaids (yes, you read that right). The quality of light that we had yesterday rarely happens and I was delighted that Helen and Andy, despite it being a little breezy, encouraged everyone to come on to the beach for their formals and for some portraits too …
And I think it was worth it … oh, and here are those gorgeous bridesmaids!
Congratulations to you both, Helen and Andy, and I’m looking forward to sharing your final images with you on your return from honeymoon.

We all take photographs. We, almost everyone. Apart, maybe, from my dad who can’t quite work out how to do it on his new phone … but I take lots of photos, whether it is for work or for pleasure.
But there are some photos that we can’t take. And those are the ones that include us (unless, of course, you’ve got long arms to use a selfie stick and are great at using self timers …).
I thought you might like to see Jenny’s progression from bump … to Oscar’s arrival and to his one year photoshoot. He’s gorgeous.
Bump shoots aren’t for everyone. I totally get that. But with my three photoshoot session, you can make the choice. When you want to start … and when you want to finish. You can find out more by clicking this link: Newborn and family photoshoot details or you can email me email@example.com
Let’s start building those memories …

We first met a few years ago. Time passed. No date set. Then a call … it’s on. Are you free? And happily I was … Judy and Dave celebrated their early Spring wedding at the beautiful South Kent Coast venue Pines Calyx. Although it was chilly, we managed to avoid any rain and stayed outside for photographs.
But let’s start at the beginning …
The flowers were beautiful and the smell intense. Table names were different types of stones as a nod to both Dave and his best man’s professions.
I had my lovely second shooter, Sarah, with me and you can see how you get different perspective with two pairs of eyes!
These two candid images were Judy and Dave’s favourites from the day. Their children …
I personally love the dual perspective that we managed to achieve on the group shot!
Judy and Dave didn’t have an evening party but you can see how dark it was when they left through a tunnel of glow sticks!
It was great to have my first wedding of 2015 at such a beautiful and unique eco-friendly venue which, whatever the weather, provides for wonderful photo opportunities! Thank you to Judy and Dave for making my job so very easy and to all the great suppliers who ensured that everything went smoothly on the day.

Oscar (and indeed, Tilly his sister) are some of my lovely bump to baby clients. Having now known the family for five years (Tilly has started school … yikes!), I don’t need to programme in their address in my SatNav!
I was delighted to hear from Oscar’s mum that he was ready for his third shoot in the package and that the date chosen would be his first birthday!
Bearing in mind that Oscar was a bit under the weather, I am absolutely delighted with the images that we got. Using a mix of natural light and bounced flash, the final results are so incredibly sharp that you can count his eyelashes.
And aren’t you jealous? I’m excited to start work on Oscar’s album which will include images from mummy’s bump shots, to his newborn and finally to his gorgeous birthday images.
I’m always delighted to follow the progress of any of my clients, whether it is babies, families or brides and grooms. Why not let me capture your memories?
And, just in case you’re interested, here’s Tilly at one year …

As you may have seen in previous posts, my work is very varied. And sometimes very tasty.
And this was certainly the case when I was invited to work alongside chef Dominic and his wife, Roxy, to create some mouth-watering images of their current menu at The Bubble in Whitstable.
It really was rather delicious … and the smells from the kitchen were heaven. A beach front location, beautifully situated and heavenly food. Tough life …
I was lucky enough to take home one of the lamb wraps with salad which was absolutely delicious. I’m hoping to return to photograph future menus … and to enjoy the selection of middle-Eastern and Mediterranean inspired dishes on offer.
