With the amount of rain we’ve had in Kent recently, it’s difficult to remember what warm weather feels like … but it will return. It will.
Although it’s great to have a bright sunny day for photographs, it isn’t always the best light as far as photography is concerned. Harsh, bright sun can cast unattractive shadows on the face and that’s why you’ll often find photographers looking for “open shade” or an area that isn’t in bright sunshine.
Early evening photoshoots at this time of year are perfect for capturing those lazy summer days.
We are so lucky in our local area of Faversham, Whitstable, Canterbury and Herne Bay that we are surrounded by glorious and photo-perfect areas.
If you are considering booking a family photoshoot over the summer, please do feel free to get in touch by emailing me firstname.lastname@example.org – details on pricing are here – prices are from £195.
Hope to hear from you soon!
As I spoke to my client, hailstones were raining down in our garden. However, Judith was confident that the weather would be fine for her family’s photoshoot in their secret bluebell location. I drove through the country lanes with darkening skies all around but the the tiniest hint of blue sky.
I just love the look of absolute enjoyment on the girls’ faces!
Additional family members are always welcome and deserve their own photos!
Perched high on a branch, mum was encourage to make the children laugh … I’m still not sure what she was doing! But it worked!
And it was entirely worth it. This family is a joy to photograph and I’m really looking forward to Judith and Paul’s wedding in September. Thank you all for making it such fun!
As I walk through the woods with my two Tibetan Terriers, it’s really easy to notice the chance in seasons. The colours of the trees are becoming vibrant, a hint of wood smoke in the air and conkers everywhere (I’m sure when I was younger, there weren’t so many conkers …).
So it’s time to launch another round of family photoshoots. Half term is a great opportunity for families when they are relaxed and have time to spend with each other. When better to book a family photoshoot, on the beach or in the woods, to capture your children doing what they naturally enjoy the most … kicking through leaves, collecting conkers … being children.
And, of course, if you have dogs, they are more than welcome to come along too!
Please do email email@example.com for availability of the sessions. A great way of spending time with the family and getting images which really do reflect their personalities.
Sessions last between one to one and a half hours and will be in the local vicinity of Faversham and outlying villages (including the seaside) so long enough to get wonderful images but not too long!
I was delighted to be contacted by Amy who had been recommended to me by her neighbour … Amy wanted to book a family photoshoot on the beach to celebrate her parents’ wedding anniversary. I found out on the day that it was a surprise – right up until the day before!
And Judith also mentioned that the last time they had a family photoshoot, it was 20 years ago … so about time for some new photos!
It was lovely to meet the family and to work with their little ones … and I was especially given the run around by this little cutie …
I thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the beach in such perfect weather. And interesting to hear about that family photo in the checked shirts Amy …
Can’t wait to share your images with you all!
How lovely it was to be invited back to this lovely family to photograph their latest addition, Oscar. As Tilly is now a big sister, she was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole shoot and we achieved some lovely shots of both the new arrival and his big sister!
Here are just a couple of teaser images (and a super cute one too when Oscar had nodded off … perfect!)
I can’t wait to return in six months to photograph Oscar and his family again. It really does create beautiful memories of a time which is so fleeting. If you are expecting a new arrival or would be interested in a relaxed and family photoshoot, why not check out details and pricing by clicking this link.
It’s taken a while for me to be brave enough to book my first set of sessions … but I am so glad that I did! Using the upstairs room at The Saddlers right on the Market Place in Faversham, I welcomed nine families who came along, giggled, laughed, blew bubbles and sang … here are just a few of the results!
I can’t blog all of the sessions because some of them are secret Christmas presents … what a great idea! We had Santa hats, bubbles, fairies, wands and dancing. Jumping and giggling and cuddling … oh it was such fun. The smiles and energy from the children was just inspiring!
If you’d like more details on the next set of sessions, which will be in Spring 2015, just drop me a line firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll be happy to tell you more. In fact, some of my clients already want to book for the next ones too as their little ones will have changed so much by then! I also offer bespoke family photography in a more relaxed environment so do get in touch.
This family are my perfect clients. We first met three years ago when new addition, Darcey, was just a few days old. Since then, I’ve photographed her as she’s grown, I’ve joined big sister Erin and her friends at a birthday party (mad, crazy, fun) and Andy’s parents for a special anniversary and family gathering and also had a spectacular photoshoot with their two camper vans, Ludwig and Matilda (Whitstable Bays). I’ve cuddled their tiny newborn pups and I’m always welcomed with cake and tea. See, perfect. And when mum Suzie suggested that we meet last Saturday in the car park at Perry Woods (an ancient woodland near Selling and Chilham, I wasn’t in the least surprised – October has always proved a great time to have a photoshoot with Darcey and the weather report had been checked and verified … so we did this …
Little Darcey was proving to be a bit camera shy but we worked together … until the rest of the family photobombed us!
And, of course, in Matilda there was cake …
Such fun and a great way to spend an autumn morning – if you haven’t had a family portrait session for ages, why not drop me a line email@example.com and I’d be happy to hear your ideas!
