With the amount of rain we’ve had in Kent recently, it’s difficult to remember what warm weather feels like … but it will return. It will.
Although it’s great to have a bright sunny day for photographs, it isn’t always the best light as far as photography is concerned. Harsh, bright sun can cast unattractive shadows on the face and that’s why you’ll often find photographers looking for “open shade” or an area that isn’t in bright sunshine.
Early evening photoshoots at this time of year are perfect for capturing those lazy summer days.
We are so lucky in our local area of Faversham, Whitstable, Canterbury and Herne Bay that we are surrounded by glorious and photo-perfect areas.
If you are considering booking a family photoshoot over the summer, please do feel free to get in touch by emailing me email@example.com – details on pricing are here – prices are from £195.
Hope to hear from you soon!
As I walk through the woods with my two Tibetan Terriers, it’s really easy to notice the chance in seasons. The colours of the trees are becoming vibrant, a hint of wood smoke in the air and conkers everywhere (I’m sure when I was younger, there weren’t so many conkers …).
So it’s time to launch another round of family photoshoots. Half term is a great opportunity for families when they are relaxed and have time to spend with each other. When better to book a family photoshoot, on the beach or in the woods, to capture your children doing what they naturally enjoy the most … kicking through leaves, collecting conkers … being children.
And, of course, if you have dogs, they are more than welcome to come along too!
Please do email firstname.lastname@example.org for availability of the sessions. A great way of spending time with the family and getting images which really do reflect their personalities.
Sessions last between one to one and a half hours and will be in the local vicinity of Faversham and outlying villages (including the seaside) so long enough to get wonderful images but not too long!
Theo, who is 19 months, was christened last year and as a gift to him, I was asked to produce a voucher for a photoshoot. Our first session was booked on a day when the heavens opened and we decided to postpone and mummy Natalie could not have chosen a more glorious day. As they live in the Folkestone area, she suggested that we meet at the Coastal Park … it was my first time there and I was really impressed! So much to do for adults and children alike, spotlessly maintained and right on the coast (I guess the name of the park kind of gives it away).
Theo is fast. Very fast. And knows the park very well. I feel as though he really “bossed” the photoshoot and I enjoyed every minute! Here’s a couple of cheeky sneak peeks …
After strolling through the park, we made our way to the sea front … you could see storm clouds gathering in the distance but on the beach, it was just wonderful!
I’ll be finalising editing over the next few days but it was really lovely to meet Theo and his parents … and I’m looking forward to photographing the new addition in about 11 weeks time! Thanks so much for making it such a fun morning.
If you are based in the Folkestone area and are interested in booking a family photoshoot, just drop me a line email@example.com – I’m looking forward to returning very soon!
I had this family shoot in October, but couldn’t post any of the pictures as they were being made into Christmas presents for nans and grandads!
Alex and Belle (the older two) were a great help with Cody and Henry, who I am not sure were quite ready for model stardom!
In this pic, I had to cheat slightly and splice two photos together!
And here they are all together …
I am so glad to hear that all the presents went down really well … and now I can finally post the pictures!
I have really enjoyed looking through and processing the pictures of these two gorgeous children. As promised, I am posting a couple more and then will get busy finalising the images for proofing.
I’m amazed that I actually got them both looking the same way at the same time (all with great help from mummy!).
I have put together a small montage of black and white images …
Chloe and Alex’s family are internationally based as well as in the UK and I do hope that they are able to view and enjoy these latest pictures. Hope to see you all again soon. xx
Such gorgeous children … such wonderful eyes … and such fun to photograph.
Just posting a quick couple of teasers as mum is curious to see the results …
And here’s Chloe with her brother …
And here’s Alex – see what I mean about those eyes …
I’ll be adding more soon … thanks again for such a fun day. See you all soon xx
