Sarah and James {pre-wedding photoshoot}

What a windy day – but gorgeously sunny and just great fun! Sarah and James are getting married in June and their wedding is having a 1950’s theme … here’s your sneak peek!

We met at Hall Place Gardens near Bexleyheath, which is well known to me. I used to go there with my family as a child and can remember my nan taking cuttings of the geraniums … The gardens were full of life and lots of people … and ducklings and tame baby squirrels!

Can’t wait for your wedding … it truly is going to be rock ‘n’ roll!

Matilda {sneak peek}

Such a lovely baby … and so very, very awake!

Here’s a quick sneak peek for gorgeous baby Mathilda’s parents …

And wouldn’t you believe it … just as I was packing up my things, Mathilda gently fell asleep … thanks so much to mum and dad for making it such a fun shoot on such a rainy day! Online gallery will be open very soon.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Chester {wedding sneak peek}

Yesterday saw me at Cooling Castle Barn in Kent for the wedding celebrations of Kelly and Chris. A beautiful and emotional ceremony was followed by photos in the blisteringly cold winds … but Kelly looked absolutely radiant and glowed from within and Chris (despite his fear of his impending speech) took every opportunity to cuddle up to his new bride!

So, here’s a little sneak peek … more will follow, but, in the meantime, I wish you both all the happiness in the world and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed your wedding!

{End of Year Accounts}

It’s that time of the year when everyone (apart from the very, very organised) are sorting out their year-end accounts. Unfortunately, I am not one of those very organised people, so I put aside today to start to work on my figures.

One of my cats, Gato, decided to come and help …

One of the great things that helped me get through the day was that, as I was filling out my cash book (or Excel spreadsheet …), I kept coming up with names of brides and grooms from the early part of 2009, babies, families, companies … it was like a fabulous trip down memory lane. And remembering their wedding days, the fun, the tears, the rain …

I am so looking forward to seeing what this year brings – and to getting my accounts finalised too!

Sneak peek {Maddie}

Just loved this family photoshoot today, starring the gorgeous, eight month old Maddie. I promised a sneak peek …

Mum is a keen horserider and so it just seemed natural to use the saddle as a prop! Thanks to you all for making my afternoon such fun!

Anita and Dan … it’s on its way …

Ayumi and Peter {married} at St Edmunds – the story of their day

What a colourful and lively wedding in such glorious surroundings. The chapel at St Edmunds in Canterbury is steeped in history (especially for Peter’s family) and you can see the city and cathedral from the grounds.

Our story starts at Ayumi’s bridal preparations … on arrival, I was asked if I wanted some Japanese curry – this seemed an excellent way to start the day!

And then on to St Edmunds, where Peter was waiting with his ushers, including the super smart Oscar!

Time always seems to speed by on wedding days and before we knew it, Ayumi was arriving at the chapel …

And they were married!

After being welcomed by a sweep and given a bag of coal (the tradition had to be explained to quite a few people!), we have time for a few portraits of Mr and Mrs Peter John Roberts …

Then it was off to Howfield Manor, near Canterbury …

And some detail shots and a few more portraits …

And then time to be called in for the wedding breakfast (with entertainment by Mark Lemeza)

And then the speeches … with tears and laughter … and lots of champagne!

Before we knew it, it was time for the room to be cleared and for the evening part of Ayumi and Peter’s celebrations to begin … with cutting the cake and first dance!

Congratulations to you both and thank you to everyone who made my day such fun, in particular to James, the best man, who organised things perfectly (according to Ayumi’s list!).

If you have enjoyed looking through the story of Ayumi and Peter’s day, why not leave a comment below! And, of course, if you are looking for a wedding photographer, do drop me a line on sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk and check out my site www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk)!
