Joanne and Christian wedding celebrations {the full story}

Sitting here, on this rainy Bank Holiday Monday, it doesn’t seem possible just how gorgeously warm it was back at the end of May for Jo and Christian’s wedding celebrations in Larkfield.

I arrived at Hamlets Hotel and the preparations were in full swing …

With best man Eddie wielding a pair of scissors, Christian was soon buttonholed up! His cufflinks, which had a very distinct Star Trek theme, were a gift from the chief bridesmaid!

And the boys were ready!

With best man Eddie taking good care of those all important wedding rings, along with a trusty British Bulldog!

In the bridal suite, Joanne and her chief bridesmaid Carly and mum Dee were busy with the final preparations …

And downstairs, Christian’s dad, who had been taken very poorly only a few days before, arrived to great celebration!

And then, transformed into a gorgeous bride, Joanne was ready to make the journey downstairs to her waiting guests …

Along with bridesmaids Carly and Lisa and pageboys Wade and William, and proud dad Mick, it was time …

For the bride to make her entrance!

The witnesses, mums Dee and Margaret, were also joined in a very emotional signing by Christian’s dad, Eddie, which nearly brought everyone to tears.

A quick glass of champagne to celebrate

And then outside for welcome drinks and laughter and group shots. Of course, there was always just a few minutes for some bride and groom portraits too.

And Christian taking a photograph of his new wife for his screensaver!

All too soon it was time to go inside for the wedding breakfast (oh, the cheesecake!), speeches and cutting of the cake.

Weddings are all about emotion. And Joanne and Christian’s wedding celebrations had that 100% and more. I was near to tears myself when Christian’s mum spoke about her new friendship with Joanne’s mum and how the families were united in celebration.

I’ll end here with a final portrait of the bride and groom which, I think, leaves me in no doubt about the happiness and joy that these two lovely people have found in each other.

I hope that you had the most amazing day – I certainly was smiling throughout the day and hope that we will keep in touch in the future. For now, I hope that you have enjoyed looking at your images and sharing them with family and friends. The final edits will be with you very soon. With all best wishes for a long and fruitful marriage. Sam xx
