Swords and peacocks … Charly and Mark’s wedding at Quex {sneak peek}

Upon waking to heavy rain on the morning of Charly and Mark’s wedding, I sighed, packed my wedding umbrellas in the car and set off for Quex. As this was to be my first wedding there (and hopefully not my last), I had wanted it to be perfect for this lovely military couple. And, do you know, whoever had prayed for good weather had done an excellent job. After their original photographer had to undergo what sounds like an incredibly painful operation scheduled only days before their wedding, Charly and Mark had been guests at the recent wedding of Carolyn and Daniel. I was delighted to hear from them and more than delighted to be available. Now, as guests at another wedding, I hadn’t really met them … and as they were both in different parts of the country and only coming back to Kent the day before the wedding, we only met on the day itself. And they are amazing. Welcoming, kind, friendly …

When I showed Charly this image on the back of my camera, she looked at her husband, smiled and said “Who is that person?”. You looked amazing, Charly.

When Charly’s father made his speech, which recounted many stories of times past, one of his final comments was “Three down, nine to go …”. Oh yes, Charly is one of twelve …

Thank you both so much for trusting in my abilities and for welcoming me in to your celebrations. Oh yes, and the peacocks …

I’ll be working hard to edit your images as soon as I possibly can and I hope that you partied long into the night. With one more shot just to whet your appetites and thanks again to everyone who made me feel so very welcome, to Ilona who helped get all the people in the right place at the right time and to Maz who organised and ran everything in true military fashion … and to Charly’s family, who didn’t seem to mind that I couldn’t remember all of their names …

    1. Thank you so much, Mrs McNelis! Didn’t it all work out well in the end? I’m so pleased that you like the sneak peek. I saw beautiful things and photographed beautiful people. I might have mentioned it on the day, but I love my job!
