Canterbury photographer Samantha Jones photographs Isolde and Malcolm’s wedding ceremony at Wellington House in Canterbury

Isolde and Malcolm celebrated their love today at Wellington House in Canterbury. Despite the heavy clouds and threat of rain, nothing could detract for their obvious devotion to each other. It seems as though each time I photograph a wedding, there is a new experience waiting for me … this time it was a last minute manicure in the car park …

Well, the previous bride and groom were running 15 minutes late and it seemed a good use of the time! After a discussion between Malcolm and his best man (the bride’s ring is the smaller one …)

it was time for the ceremony … and the first kiss …

(Don’t worry, I have properly lit ones for the bride and groom, I just liked the effect here)! And then the signing of the register and outside for pictures … just as it started to rain! Luckily it was only light and there is some coverage at Wellington House …

Congratulations again to Isolde and Malcolm and I hope that you enjoy the rest of your celebrations with your family and friends.

If you are having a weekday wedding in the Canterbury, Faversham, Herne Bay and Whitstable area, do take a look at my website www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk for details of wedding packages. It is worth booking a professional photographer, even if you are planning a smaller ceremony. Your wedding photographs will stay with you long after your bouquet has faded …

Faversham photographer Samantha Jones shoots a fabulous Christmas present

What a wonderful husband to buy such a creative Christmas present for his wife … way back in November, Stuart purchased a photoshoot experience for his wife Kay … and as a result of timings and bad weather, the shoot was scheduled for today … and what a day we had! We sped around Faversham, looking for cornfields, gunpowder works and funghi … take a look!

We had to press Stuart into having his picture taken too …

Stuart is a keen photographer and I have to say that he was great with helping with the lighting …

And this gorgeous image – the light in Kay’s eyes is just lovely and so soft …

Thanks to you both for making my job such fun and I am so glad that we finally managed to schedule the shoot (particularly due to the fact that it poured with rain in the afternoon!). If you might be thinking of giving the gift of a photoshoot to someone you love, do drop me a line: sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk.

Baby photographer Samantha Jones photographs three gorgeous little ones

Today I had a fabulous road trip, taking in Dover and Folkestone … driving along the coast on such a gorgeous day reminds me how wonderful my job is.

So, I promised Ruby, Ivy and Isaac’s mums that I would post a quick teaser of their photoshoots … take a look …

Here’s Ivy …

And Ruby …

And Isaac …

All of these images were taken with natural light and all were using the home studio set-up which can fit into most living rooms. The online galleries for these gorgeous babes will be up soon and thank you all for making my trip to the Kent coast such fun!

If you would like to consider booking a photosession in the comfort of your own home, do take a look at my website www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk and check out the family section. Or you can email me at sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk.

Once bitten … forever smitten … Janet from Delicakes hosts a cupcake tasting session

and I went along to try some new flavours! These included: chocolate and beetroot, courgette, carrot and coconut, vanilla sponge, gluten free lemon, and gluten free Red Velvet (which is known as Devil’s Food in the States). There were also a variety of toppings, including chocolate fudge, raspberry buttercream, lemon buttercream, lower fat vanilla and Janet also provided a selection of homemade chocolates in Saffron, Lavender and Mint …

Janet is a personal friend of mine but I have to say that her cupcakes are sublime … really! She has provided me and my family with beautiful celebration cakes and I am sure will continue to do so long into the future. Janet threw open her doors and welcomed a huge contingent of cupcake conoisseurs and newbies to try out some different flavours (judging by the children’s faces, the chocolate cupcakes were popular). We all had a detailed feedback sheet, and I think Janet was pleased to see the constructive comments that we made. “Yummy” … “Wouldn’t change a thing” were a couple of the notations that I saw …

Janet asked if I could take some promotional photographs for her site … of course! Here she is in her whites:

And some gorgeous smileyness …

Check out Janet’s website here: www.weddingdelicakes.co.uk). Her tagline is “Once bitten … forever smitten” and she has certainly got me hooked!

And the final results on the tasting were: courgette cupcake with lemon buttercream was the favourite of most people, gluten-free lemon was a surprise hit and Saffron was the favourite chocolate … mmmm!

Kent photographer Samantha Jones photographs a triple christening!

What amazing weather we have been having and the sun certainly shone on Chloe, Keira and Kacey’s christening day. Yes, that’s right, a triple christening! I was asked by Chloe’s mum, Louise (whose wedding I photographed two years ago) whether I would be able to take some pictures during and after the christening … take a look at the slideshow!

The celebrations continued after the service at Christ Church in Erith (it has a Grade II Listed interior, with magnificent murals and stained glass windows. One of the windows depicts the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Mary – there are thought to be only three others in the country) and it is a beautiful (if dark) church!

Thank you to everyone who made me feel so very welcome and for joining in the fun of the impromptu photobooth outside the reception venue. I am just finalising the images from the day and the online gallery will be open for viewing very soon!

Kent photographer Samantha Jones shoots four gorgeous prom girls

It really is party season. I’m sure that when I was at school, we used to have a disco and wear jeans to the end of year celebrations. Not these girls …

And yes, I was lying down in the middle of the road for the “Sex and the City” shot!

Such great fun and gorgeous, gorgeous girls. I am sure that you all had a great night and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and your families!

Walletts Court photographer Samantha Jones shoots a gorgeous bridal session

Walletts Court is a beautiful hotel, conference and wedding venue situated in St Margaret’s Bay near Dover (www.wallettscourthotel.com. We set up this shoot in order to provide brides with an idea of how wonderful their wedding day photographs could look if they choose the combination of Walletts Court and Samantha Jones Photography (www.samanthajonesphotography.co.uk) (that’s me, by the way …).

We teamed up with Carrie (who was married last August) and Emily-Rose Makeup Artist (www.emilyrosemakeupartist.co.uk) who specialises in wedding and special event makeup (and she’s pretty fab at her job too!).

So here is a selection of images from the day …

Despite suffering from hayfever, Carrie was a brilliant model and I could see her really relaxing as our shoot went on. She is also a “blinker” (one of the reasons why it’s a good idea to have an engagement shoot before your wedding day …) but we managed to overcome that …

And a final montage with some vintage processing … gorgeous!

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this shoot a success and, if you are considering Walletts Court as a wedding venue, then please do drop me a line!
