Cuteness overload … meet Maddison {newborn]

I’ve known Jemma and Rob for a good few years now, having photographed their wedding at The Old Kent Barn (you can see their story here) and we have kept in touch over the years.  I was delighted to hear that they were expanding their family … and even more delighted to hear of the safe (if a little early) arrival of Maddison.

At just one week old, Maddison stole my heart. She took a while to settle but we were in no hurry … the light in the conservatory was gentle as the day was overcast and Maddison finally drifted off …

Jemma and Rob also have a petite Boston Terrier and Maddison had received a replica … it’s great when we have the chance to photograph newborns with their first presents as we can use them in the future to gauge how much, and how quickly, they grow!

Maddison also modelled some headbands, made by friends of Jemma and Rob …

With a beautiful princess blanket gifted by grandparents, Peter and Bernie, it was nearly time to finish …

I’m pretty confident that I’ll be seeing lots more of this gorgeous little one. Maddison is already putting on weight and getting bigger by the day and I’m excited to follow her progress.

If you are expecting a baby, why not check out my bespoke baby packages which comprise of three photoshoots, either maternity, newborn and six months or newborn, six months and one year. They are keenly priced and a great way to document those important times in your baby’s first year:  details are here or you can email sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk to book your session.

From bump to baby to one …

We all take photographs. We, almost everyone. Apart, maybe, from my dad who can’t quite work out how to do it on his new phone … but I take lots of photos, whether it is for work or for pleasure.

But there are some photos that we can’t take. And those are the ones that include us (unless, of course, you’ve got long arms to use a selfie stick and are great at using self timers …).

I thought you might like to see Jenny’s progression from bump … to Oscar’s arrival and to his one year photoshoot. He’s gorgeous.

Bump shoots aren’t for everyone. I totally get that. But with my three photoshoot session, you can make the choice. When you want to start … and when you want to finish. You can find out more by clicking this link: Newborn and family photoshoot details or you can email me sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk

Let’s start building those memories …

A gorgeous little Christmas baby – welcome Oscar!

How lovely it was to be invited back to this lovely family to photograph their latest addition, Oscar. As Tilly is now a big sister, she was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole shoot and we achieved some lovely shots of both the new arrival and his big sister!

Here are just a couple of teaser images (and a super cute one too when Oscar had nodded off … perfect!)

I can’t wait to return in six months to photograph Oscar and his family again. It really does create beautiful memories of a time which is so fleeting. Merry Christmas!

Not so much a cake “smash” as a gentle cake “smush” … {sneak peek}

Gorgeous little Aoife is one of my newborn to one year clients. With three photoshoots under her belt, we’ve come to the end of our current photographic journey … and mum Lucy had the idea of a cake smash. We both agreed that this was the most delicate cake deconstruction and something which Lucy really hadn’t expected … but here is Aoife … doing her cake “smash” …

I would absolutely love to shoot more of these cake smushes or smashes. Do drop me a line if your baby is turning one, or if he or she is sitting up … and you fancy getting a bit messy. Or we could just eat cake …

A very Christmassy Charlotte {sneak peek}

It doesn’t seem right to be so close to Christmas and not have posted images from a Christmassy shoot … so, I give you … Charlotte!

We had also planned to get big sister Amelia in some photographs too but this was the closest that we got …

Next time, Amelia!

I’ll be bringing even more things with me now on home shoots … if you are looking to book a photoshoot for either a young family or newborn, do drop me a line sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk.

On a dull and dreary November day, five month old baby A was all smiles (in strawberries) {sneak peek}

Sadly, winter really seems to be setting in. When I first met baby A back in June, she was tiny. But now, look at this gorgeous little one, who is one of my newborn to one year clients, as she brought sunshine into the room and a smile into my heart.

Isn’t she just gorgeous?

I can’t wait to share the rest of her images with mummy and daddy and I know that they can’t wait to see them either! Thanks so much for a fabulous afternoon! xx

“William is a very relaxed and chilled out baby” says mummy … {sneak peek}

Thank you to my good friend Helen who introduced me to lovely mummy Belinda and gorgeous little William. Who, apparently, is very well behaved. But today was a little camera conscious … but after a nice long feed, and when the heating was popped on full blast, drifted off into a delicious sleep … check out his cheeky sneak peek below!

Newborn photography montage by Samantha Jones Photography

I love the way that this little montage shows so many different aspects of this scrummy little chap. Apparently, he is now sleeping like a baby!!! Lovely to meet this fabulous family and I’ll be editing and uploading your gallery for you to enjoy next week. And thanks to Emily, big sister, who made me laugh out loud!

Strawberries and cream … baby Aoife’s first (and second) photoshoots {sneak peek}

I’ve met baby Aoife twice now and she was as super cute the second time as she was the first. At a whole week old, we met at the beginning of the week for her newborn photographs. But baby Aoife decided that she wasn’t quite ready for her public so we rearranged another mini-shoot … and she was perfect! This first montage is from her shoot on Monday …

Baby Aoife's first photoshoot

And these are a small selection from today … mummy cranked up the heating, baby Aoife grinned and yawned throughout …

Baby Aoife's second photoshoot

And this young lady can really “work” a hat!

Baby Aoife's second photoshoot

I’m so glad that we could schedule a return visit – it really was worth it for some super shots. Sadly we didn’t quite manage to get her handmade slippers on … but here they are anyway!

Baby Aoife's super cute bunny slippers

I understand that, as Aoife’s next photoshoot will be scheduled around Christmas, that she may have to model a different outfit … can’t wait! Lovely to meet you, mummy and daddy and hope that you enjoy this little sneak peek of your gorgeous girl.

If you are expecting, or indeed, have a newborn, please do fill out the contact form below if you are interested in a home photoshoot in the Faversham area. I love meeting newbies!

Charlie’s newborn photoshoot, also featuring big brother Mikey {sneak peek}

On a gorgeous, bright, early Spring day, I visited Kristina and James and their two boys for a newborn photoshoot for nine day old Charlie. Mum Kristina had been a little worried that her eldest son, at two years old, might be a little wary of having his photograph taken and it is true that, at this age, children start to question “why” … but I think the images below show that Mikey was very relaxed, but possibly not as relaxed and his chilled out little brother. The warmth of the room and a full tummy meant that Charlie hardly made a murmur, only for a little feed before modelling perfectly …

Charlie nine day old newborn photoshoot

Kristina mentioned that she quite likes images in black and white too and those below are a good example of how well it can work …

2013-02-18_0001

I think Mikey was quite relaxed. We also took time to get some family shots to capture this special moment of a growing family. If you are expecting a new arrival, do drop me a line sam@samanthajonesphotography.co.uk – I would recommend booking a date around 7-9 days after your due date but we can always be flexible if necessary as babies do seem to have a mind of their own …

Curly hair and eyes so blue … {sneak peek}

I first met William when he was just a bump and then again when he was seven weeks old. And now, gorgeous mum Emma is expecting again and asked me to return for some maternity shots and to also take a few portraits of William.

Now, with children, there is a small window of time to get “the shot”. But with this engaging little boy and his amazing mop of curly blonde hair, even playing peek-a-boo lent itself to fabulous images …

toddler, William, family photography
